A Year of Sewing and Community...all in one fun challenge !
Sewing is always more fun when we do it together—that’s the idea behind the 2026 Sew Together Challenge! This free, year-long challenge brings sewists of all levels together to create one size-inclusive, free pattern each month. We sew, share progress, cheer each other on, and learn new skills along the way.
Each month comes with a Pinterest board, a companion “Sew With Me” video, and guidance on fabric, notions, and hacks—so you can make each project your own. Here’s what we’ll be sewing in 2026:
January – Dash Sweatpants (Petite Stitchery)
Kick off the year in cozy comfort! These free, size-inclusive sweatpants are perfect for lounging, layering, or gifting. Pair with a matching hoodie or style with your favorite tees for everyday wear.
February – Core Tee (Closet Core Patterns)
A simple boxy tee that can also be hacked into a dress or loungewear. February is all about Valentine’s Day and self-care, making it the perfect time to sew something cozy yet versatile.
March – Hanbok Vest (Two O Nine)
Learn a new silhouette with this layering-friendly vest. Bonus: the pattern includes a tiered skirt that pairs perfectly for a coordinated set. Fabric choice allows you to adapt for cooler or warmer weather.
April – Fern Tunic (Sew Tina Givens)
A breezy, flowing tunic designed to highlight fabrics that billow and move. Add a drawstring or tie for a polished finishing touch.
May – Basalie Flutter Sleeve Top (Tiana’s Closet)
Inspired by Emerson Fry, this flutter sleeve top is playful yet wearable. You can also hack it into a dress for extra versatility. Perfect for lightweight cottons and practicing baby hems.
June – Sandstone Shift Dress (Salt Lake Sewciety)
A classic shift dress with endless hacking options: ruffles, gathered waist, flounces, or cap sleeves. Perfect for summer styling and adaptable with a variety of fabrics.
July – 1149 Knit Dress (Grasser)
A fitted knit dress with soft pleats, ideal for experimenting with stretch, drape, and silhouette shaping while creating a flattering, everyday piece.
August – Colorblock Set (Matchy Matchy Sewing Club)
A fun, print- and color-mixing set. Perfect for summer statement-making pieces, this pattern teaches you how to combine fabrics creatively for tops and bottoms that can be worn together or separately.
September – Multi-Elastic Waist Skirt (Tessuti)
A comfortable, wearable skirt featuring a multi-elastic waistband. Perfect for layering and seasonal styling, and a great way to practice inserting elastic and achieving clean finishes.
October – Noelle Dress (Veronica Tucker the Label)
Flowy and relaxed, this dress is perfect for fall layering. You can even hack the neckline with elastic for a more conservative option while keeping the same lovely silhouette.
November – Button-Up Jacket (Peppermint Magazine)
A versatile oversized, boxy jacket with a shawl collar. Can be made in wovens like chambray, denim, or twill. Its unique design ensures everyone will ask, “Where did you get that?”
December – Easton Quilted Jacket (Seamwork)
Wrap up the year with a cozy, oversized jacket. You don’t have to quilt your own fabric—pre-quilted fabrics, thick sweater knits, or other structured materials all work depending on your climate. Perfect for finishing the year in style!
The Sew Together Challenge is free, size-inclusive, and community-focused. Each month, you’ll get patterns, fabric guides, ready-to-wear inspiration, shopping lists, and optional hacks to make the project your own. Most importantly, you’ll be sewing alongside a group of supportive, creative sewists who love to learn and share just as much as you do.
