Hi e’erybody,
i’m Carla from Southern California (originally from Washington State). I was gifted a sewing machine some eight years ago and have been mostly quilting ever since. I recently started garment making and up cycling Thrifted stuff. The algorithm gods showed me Lindsey‘s challenge at New Year’s and I’ll be one of those that’s fitting sewing into life. My biggest challenge these days is Picking fabric. Has anyone found Lindsey‘s fabric pic? I wasn’t able to find the link. So grateful to be here. I hope to keep up.

The video she posted on YouTube shows how to look for fabrics by checking on the examples. She mentioned most of the links will show us GSM (the weight of the fabrics). Fabric seems to be a hot topic but I think if we follow what the suggested fabric is from the pattern and look at the gsm we will be ok. If you have a stash and don’t have gsm then it will be a hit or miss. That’s where I’m at since I was given quite a bit of fabrics over the summer with no info on any of it. Best place to look will be a thrift store. That will be my first choice to make a mock up 😉
