Sew Together 2026

Better late than never! I couldn't fix the low neckline, but I did fix the dart issue. Ended up using a striped rayon fabric which presented new issues, especially joining the bodice top to the skirt 🙄 I had to hand baste it and use a larger seam allowance to get it to line up. Overall, I think I did 4 toiles before the final. I think the more structured fabric made a better bodice, though. Very involved for a free pattern. I would make this again in a different fabric, but not for a while! I'm still sewed out!

I made a pattern for some flutter Sleeves (there are instructional videos on YouTube). I hemmed both edges of the sleeves and added some gathering stitches. Then I pinned it to the inside and top stitched. I wasn’t about to mess with all of that facing. I feel more comfortable in it this way and I don’t mind the deep V neck as there is more skin covered

Finished my shift dress the other day. Went with a thrifted cotton canvas tablecloth because I couldn't pass up the cute pattern and I figured it'd be perfect for July 4th this weekend. I didn't add the tie straps, mostly because they typically get on my nerves when I wear something with them. I also zig zag stitched up the v neck a little to cut down on the cleavage. Overall other than maybe going down a size next time, I'm pretty happy with the results.

I used leftover fabric from the Basalie for the bodice and a sheet for the skirt. This has the ingredients for a beautiful dress, the armholes are perfect, as are the shoulders. The bodice meets perfectly at the front...but it is very low cut, and something weird is happening at the darts. Maybe I need an SBA? I used the D cup. Also the back is quite roomy. I'm just not sure how to fix all this, but it's such a pretty dress, I would really like to fix these little glitches.

I like this dress.. it’s comfortable and I’m loving the pockets.. it will be great for summer days and after initially having trouble with the instructions regarding the facings, I just simply added binding and it works for me!

I do like the dress but I feel the v neck is too deep and the arm holes too narrow in the coverage for me.

I used the burrito method with facings over the bias binding method but I think if doing it again I would do the bias binding method it took about an hour for my brain to figure out how to connect it. I watched several videos on YouTube until it worked. Then promptly forgot how to do the other side. lol.

Whenever I put it on the facing would come out especially in the back so I tacked it down in several places around around the entire facing.

I wish I made a muslin because it shows all my bras and the arm holes slightly too narrow in the front and shows bra straps ( I like wearing my straps to the very edge of my…
