Sew Together 2026

Fern tunic finished

This is the first garment I ever sewed by hand, I don't have a machine set up right now, but really wanted to make something. I was curious what it would be like to sew something that way. I found a youtube channel a while back of a young lady who is a paper mache artist, but she has started sewing her own clothes, and she doesn't have a sewing machine, so she does it by hand. BB also likes to do it that way. Overall, it was more peaceful, but definitely took longer, so it's not very practical. I liked the finished item and think it makes a really fun and whimsical garment. I wore it all day and it was comfortable. I think the top part could be reused for a blouse. I pinned on a few bows. The second one is around the corner near the other side seam. You could change the mood of it by swapping out the ribbons to different colors. I should mention that my fabric wasn't wide enough AND I didn't notice the shoulders being cut on the fold so mine has some extra seams. Lindsey, thank you so much for introducing me to Tina Givens, I think I will make some more of her free patterns and have a little TG capsule.

Thank you! Anyone has any questions about how it went together, I am happy to discuss on the other thread, I don't know what to disclose about what I did AND now we have a beautfiul sew-along from Lindsey.
