Sew Together 2026

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hi, you guys! So, some of you have noticed (and reached out! TY!) about the bots that found our little corner of the internet. I wanted you to know that I value all our privacy and have taken action to block and delete the existing bots as well as future attempts to join our account.

With that will come additional security features like CAPTCHa when you login and sign up as well as email verification when you become a site member. Hopefully these small nuisances on your end will prevent major nuisances going forward.

If the steps I've taken to secure our group don't keep the bots out, I will be looking into alternative sites to host our discussion (Facebook, Substack, Patreon, etc).

Thanks for hanging in there with me while I navigate this new-to-me platform!

Thank you for this! I wasn't sure if that was just a normal thing with this platform. I am glad to have these measures in place.

May Basalie Check-In

Hi, everyone! Just checking in on your Basalie progress. I'm always so impressed by those of you that get it done before the 15th. That will never be me. haha.

Anyway, I'm starting mine today. I'm going to use a rayon for ultimate drape. I'll be filming the Sew With Me as I make it, so if there are specific things you want me to address, leave me a comment to let me know!

I was trying to read the specific gravity of a lead-acid battery with a hydrometer and clicked a fake terminal image. I just wanted to see if my car would start, but the auto repair site was plagued with deceptive ads. The redirect brought me to a xxx cams room that was vastly different from a mechanic's handbook for a worldwide audience. A model was squeezing a rubber bulb to draw green liquid into a glass tube while wearing a greasy mechanic's shirt. The international chat was tipping to guess which cell was dying before she unbuttoned her oily shirt. What caught my eye was the floating green float inside the glass tube indicating the charge level. I enjoyed the gritty, gas-station aesthetic mixed with a highly mechanical, dirty strip tease for a global crowd.

Fern Tunic Help!

If you took one look at the instructions for the Fern Tunic, and thought “ain’t no way!”, I got you! I filmed a step by step tutorial. More than a Sewing With Me from previous months, this will walk you through each step of how to make this adorable dress. I should have it all edited and up on the channel in a couple of days. In the mean time, enjoy this progress pic of the super cute pocket!!

Hi Lindsey, thank you for the sew along video! I found it super helpful. I'm struggling with choosing a fabric for this, and therefore, I haven't gotten any farther than printing the pattern haha. What did you use? I'm thinking I will wear it mostly around the house and for a nightgown.

Hanbok Vest

My vest is done! The Sew With Me video will be up tomorrow!

March Challenge Update

Hi, everyone!! I've loved seeing all your Hanbok vests coming in! They look great! I have a couple of updates for the challenge. 1. I know it was difficult to navigate to find the Challenge page. So, I've added a banner to the website. It's at the very very top of the page and says "Sew Together". Click on it and it will take you to your My Programs page which is where you can find this Challenge and all future programs as well. 2. Folks have expressed the desire to have a way to view all things related to each month. Everything is pretty much in chronological order due to the nature of the Challenge, but if you don't want to scroll back or want to make sure you don't miss anything, check out the tags I've created for each month. This system relies on you guys to click the tag…

I have sewn this top before a few times and always been happy with it. I’ve cut one in a viscose jersey remnant and am planning one in fuchsia cotton Lycra in the regular length. May try one in a striped remnant in the cropped length just for fun. It’s an easy pattern, looking forward to seeing how everyone’s tops turn out.

Dash pants / January

I finished my Dash pants tonight and I really like them, I used a lightweight waffle knit I found at Hobby Lobby. I chose the high waisted 1.5 “ elastic band. Very comfortable.. I would like to make another pair soon.

🧵 New Sew With Me Video Is Live!

The Dash Sweatpants Sew With Me is now available, with a big focus on sewing an elevated, expensive-looking waistband.

This isn’t a step-by-step sew-along — it’s a look at the construction choices and details I use when I want a basic garment to feel polished and intentional.

You can watch it on YouTube https://youtu.be/1e95xDI1ZcA or directly in the January section of Sew Together. If you try any of these waistband techniques, I’d love to hear how they work for you!

Challenge Updates + Perks

Hi, you guys! I've been keeping up with all your comments and so happy to hear about your progress in making the Dash Sweatpants! I have been working behind the scenes to get you guys some codes and perks for participating and I have a couple of pattern updates, too. 1. For February's pattern, we will be making the Core Tee. The lovely people at iSeeFabric.com have partnered with me to offer you guys a code for your fabric. From now through February 28th, get free shipping on any order (Challenge or not) with the code FREESHIPHEM. I'll be reminding you of this with other February videos and posts, but be sure to give their site a look...all of their fabrics are a dream! 2. November's Peppermint Magazine is NOT size inclusive. In fact, they couldn't even give me finished garment measurement for it. So, I'm going to be offering an alternativ…

Hi Lindsey, it's a really interesting video. I like your cardboard T-square, it seems very handy.
